Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies our online shop jd-parfums.de uses, what they are for and how you can manage them. It also explains which services from other providers are embedded in our shop.

In brief: Our shop itself only sets cookies that are strictly necessary for its operation and for the functions you request. We do not use cookies for analytics, statistics, advertising or marketing. However, some embedded services from other providers may set their own cookies or process data. This applies, for example, to Google via the map on our contact page. You will find the details in section 6.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files. Your browser stores them on your device, for example your computer, smartphone or tablet, when you visit a website. On subsequent page views, your browser sends the content of the cookie back to the website. This allows the website to recognise your visit and to remember, for example, which items are in your shopping cart.

Among other things, the following distinctions are made:

  • First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by other providers whose content is embedded in the website.
  • Technically necessary cookies are required for a website to operate or for functions you expressly wish to use. Non-essential cookies serve purposes such as analysing user behaviour or advertising. They may only be set with your consent.

Under Section 25 of the German Telecommunications and Digital Services Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, TDDDG), storing information on your device or accessing information already stored there is generally only permitted with your consent. An exception applies where this is strictly necessary for us to provide a digital service that you have expressly requested (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). In that case, no consent is required.

2. Cookies used by our shop

Our shop itself only sets the following three cookies. One of them (show_cookie_bar) is only set when you close the cookie notice. All three are first-party cookies: jd-parfums.de sets them itself, and your browser only sends them to our shop. Each of these cookies is strictly necessary for us to provide you with the shop and the functions you request. The show_cookie_bar cookie stores your wish to hide the cookie notice.

Name Purpose Storage period Type
fleetcart_session Contains a random identifier for your session. It is used to retain your shopping cart, your login and your checkout progress. The cookie remains stored until it expires, even after you close your browser. 120 minutes after your last activity First-party cookie, strictly necessary
XSRF-TOKEN Security cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). In such attacks, third parties send requests to our shop in your name without your knowledge. 120 minutes after your last activity First-party cookie, strictly necessary
show_cookie_bar Stores the fact that you have closed the cookie notice, so that the notice does not reappear on every page view. 400 days First-party cookie, strictly necessary to store your wish to hide the notice

We do not need your consent for these cookies. The fleetcart_session and XSRF-TOKEN cookies are set as soon as you visit our shop. The show_cookie_bar cookie is set when you close the cookie notice with either of its two buttons.

3. Legal bases

We set and read the cookies listed above on the basis of Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG. They are strictly necessary for us to provide you with the online shop you have requested, namely the shopping cart, customer account and checkout process. The same applies to hiding the cookie notice at your request.

Where personal data is processed in this context, the following legal bases apply:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where the cookies serve pre-contractual measures or the performance of a contract. This concerns the shopping cart, the checkout process and logging in to your customer account.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in all other cases. Our legitimate interest is a secure and properly functioning shop. This includes protection against cross-site request forgery attacks. In addition, we comply with your wish not to see the cookie notice again on every page view.

4. No analytics, advertising or marketing cookies

We ourselves do not use any cookies or comparable technologies to count visitors, analyse user behaviour, display advertising or track users. In particular, we do not use Google Analytics, the Facebook Pixel or any similar services. We do not create usage profiles. We have only limited influence over how embedded services from other providers process data. You will find details on this in section 6.

5. The cookie notice on our website

When you visit our shop, a cookie notice appears with the buttons “Decline” and “Accept”. Our shop itself only sets technically necessary cookies, for which no consent is required. We therefore do not obtain consent through this notice. Both buttons have the same effect: they hide the notice.

  • “Accept” does not activate any additional cookies or services.
  • “Decline” does not restrict any of the shop’s functions. However, “Decline” also does not prevent the content from other providers listed in section 6 from being loaded, for example the fonts from Google or the map on the contact page.

The show_cookie_bar cookie stores the fact that you have closed the notice, so that it does not reappear on every page view. If you delete this cookie, you will see the notice again on your next visit.

If you do not want other providers to set cookies, you can block third-party cookies in your browser (see section 7).

6. Services from other providers

For some functions, we embed content and services from other providers. When your browser loads this content, your IP address is transmitted to the provider concerned. This is technically necessary because the provider could not otherwise send the content to your browser. Some providers may also set their own cookies or process further data. We have only limited influence over this. The privacy notices of the respective provider apply in addition. You will find detailed information, including on the legal bases and on transfers to countries outside the EU, in our Privacy Policy.

6.1 Google Fonts and cdnjs

  • Google Fonts: All pages of our shop load fonts from Google servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). The provider is Google Ireland Limited in Dublin, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
  • cdnjs: Most pages use the cdnjs service to load a stylesheet for country flags. The checkout page additionally uses it to load a software library for entering phone numbers. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc. in San Francisco, USA. Your IP address may be transferred to the USA in this process. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

In particular, your IP address is transmitted in this process. You will find details in our Privacy Policy.

6.2 Google Maps

  • Map on the contact page: A Google Maps map (maps.google.com) is embedded on our contact page. When you open the contact page, the map is loaded automatically from Google servers. In this process, your IP address is transmitted to Google. Google may set its own cookies and process data about your visit. If you do not want this, you can also reach us without using the contact page, namely by e-mail or phone (see section 9).
  • Address suggestions during checkout: When you open the checkout page, your browser loads program code from Google Maps. In this process, your IP address is transmitted to Google. When you enter your address, the address field suggests matching addresses (Places API). For this purpose, what you type into the address field is transmitted to Google. The checkout page also has a button that lets you determine your address from your device’s location. Your device’s location coordinates are only transmitted to Google (Geocoding API) if you click this button and allow location access in your browser. Google then determines your address from these coordinates. Your device’s location is not requested without your click and your permission.

The provider of Google Maps is Google Ireland Limited in Dublin, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6.3 Payment via Mollie

All payments are processed by the payment service provider Mollie B.V. in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. For this purpose, the checkout page loads a script from Mollie (js.mollie.com). In this process, your IP address is transmitted to Mollie. You complete the payment itself on Mollie’s payment page, where you also choose your payment method. Mollie may set its own cookies on that page. Mollie’s privacy notices apply to these.

6.4 Sign in with Google

If you wish, you can sign in with your Google account (Google Sign-In). Our pages do not load any program code from Google for this purpose. Only when you choose to sign in with Google do we redirect you to Google. The sign-in process then takes place on Google’s pages. Google may set its own cookies in the process and then sends us your name, your e-mail address and your profile picture. The provider is Google Ireland Limited in Dublin, Ireland. Data may also be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you do not use Sign in with Google, this data is not transmitted.

6.5 WhatsApp and social networks

  • WhatsApp: The WhatsApp button on our pages is a simple link to wa.me. As long as you are only viewing our pages, no data is transmitted to WhatsApp and no WhatsApp cookies are set. Only when you click the button and use WhatsApp does WhatsApp Ireland Limited in Dublin, Ireland (a Meta group company) process your data in accordance with its own terms.
  • Social networks: At the bottom of our pages you will find links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. The product pages also contain sharing links, for example via Facebook or WhatsApp. These are all simple links. We do not use social media plugins. Data is only sent to the respective network when you click one of these links.

7. Managing, deleting and blocking cookies

You can view and delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, for example in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge. There you can also specify that your browser should block all cookies, only block cookies from certain websites or only block third-party cookies. Your browser’s help section explains how to do this.

Please note: If you delete or block our shop’s cookies, important parts of the shop will not work or will only work to a limited extent:

  • The shopping cart will not work. Items you have already added to your cart may be lost when the cookies are deleted.
  • You will not be able to log in to your customer account. If you were logged in, you will be logged out.
  • You will not be able to complete an order or submit any forms, including the contact form.
  • The cookie notice will appear again.

If you only block third-party cookies, our shop will continue to work, because our own cookies are not affected. However, individual embedded services from other providers, such as the map on the contact page, may then only work to a limited extent.

8. Changes to this Cookie Policy

If the cookies or embedded services in our shop change, we will update this Cookie Policy. The version published on this page always applies.
